Ingredients for two servings of Avocado-spinach smoothie:

  • One seedless Avocado
  • One cup fresh spinach
  • One large ripe banana
  • One tablespoon natural peanut butter
  • One cup milk, a few ice cubes

Mix all ingredients in a blender on high speed until entirely homogeneous.

How do we know if an avocado is ripe or unripe?

If you want to buy avocados or have already bought them and are not sure if they are edible, do not worry;  Try these simple tricks.  The easiest way to tell if an avocado is ripe is to try to pluck the stem.

If the stem is easily removed, the Avocado is ripe; even if you can cut the stem without a knife, it is still grown.  To determine if the Avocado is too ripe, you can also put it in the palm of your hand and squeeze it; if it is like sourdough, it is rancid.

How to store avocados for six months

Wash ripe avocados without peeling the fruit.  Cut it in half, peel it and remove the core.  Wrap each half in plastic wrap and cover well, then place them in a sealed zippered bag (so you can put them in the freezer for a while).To warm up, take the Avocado out of the fridge about 12 to 24 hours before and leave it at room temperature for an hour; pour it into a bowl or put cold water on a bag or container.
